Stayed here 3 nights with a group of friends. Layout of house was perfect. The communication with Bob the homeowner was fantastic. Close to everything but still far away enough to feel like you were in the woods.

This was the 3rd time my friends and I stayed at The Bear Chalet for a long weekend and each time is better than the last. We love this house as it is a great house for hosting a large number of people, with amazing amenities for an extremely fair price. We only wish it was closer to where we all lived so we could vacation here more. Bob is the most responsive and helpful owner. I hope to be back again next year.
My group of 5 adults and one dog stayed here this past weekend. We loved everything about our stay. There was so much room to spread out or hide away if you wanted some quiet time. They have created the perfect space for groups of people to share. You could easily have two families with kids as well as another couple all in the house without feeling cramped. Having a fully appointed kitchen made cooking anything we could come up with a breeze. Since Ludlow is a quick under 10 minute drive from the house, we never felt like we were isolated and needed to prepare for every possible contingency. Ran out of OJ? Just run into town! The house is also far enough from town that you get to enjoy a wonderful view of the peak of Okemo as well as a massively starry sky at night. Standing on the deck and staring up at the Milky Way at night was hypnotic. If the weather is too cold to stay outside more than briefly, the giant windows in the main room give you a great view of the sky at all times of day and night. Despite it being the summer, the weather co-operated and none of us were ever hot in the space. The ample amount of windows and ceiling fans let in plenty of airflow which easily let the cool air from outside in at night. My group all discussed how cozy and wonderful it would be in the winter between the firepit, wood burning stove, and hot tub. Bob was wonderfully communicative and clear about everything. He was exactly how you hope a property owner would be. You can tell they are as excited about their place as they hope their guests are. It really helps the whole experience shine. On our last night, we all talked about when we would like to come back which I think is a pretty good sign of our experience!
Great dog friendly ski house with tons of extra beds and plenty of room for even the largest groups. House was clean, inviting warm and a great place for our group of 12 adults and 2 dogs. The Loft could have slept another 6 easily enough and both common areas were able to accommodate us all comfortably as the space is much larger than it looks from the outside. Great mudroom for dropping off gear to keep the main floor clean and plenty of privacy with 2 Master suites with private baths and sitting areas, another private bedroom and then a bunk room for 6. The loft area on the top floor offers plenty of extra beds for over sized parties and the enclosed deck was great for both humans and pets as was the long drive keeping our pooches away from the road which is hardly traveled anyway. Stay with confidence as Bob was in constant contact and accommodated us at every turn offering both early check in and late check out as an added bonus.
We booked this house for a weekend getaway and it was great! Must have had about 100 ping pong matches on the downstairs table. Great setup. Would highly recommend and would definitely rent this property again.
First, Bob was absolutely wonderful to work with from the first message all the way through our stay. Second, the house was BEAUTIFUL. We were a small group to stay there (7) but loved the 3 bathrooms, plenty of space to sit and relax in the living room or on the porch, eat together at one table, gather around the island while someone cooked, etc. We could not have been more thrilled.
Stayed an extended weekend. Bob was very helpful throughout our stay. Would highly recommend staying here to anyone, and I can’t wait to stay here again.
If you stay at any of Bob's locations, you can expect to be well taken care of. ANY of our needs received a prompt response and a diligent effort to meet our requests. There is plenty of space in a nice private location just a short drive to the center of town. There is plenty of parking. The home is fully furnished including kitchen items, games (board games, cornhole, pong, etc), fire pit, ceiling and floor fans, grills, deck table and chairs, and much more! If you stay here, you will not be disappointed.
We all had a great time. Relaxing time in the hot tub. Comfortable furniture in main living room for visiting.
